Manchester United legend Steve Bruce hails three Man Utd stars after win over Crystal Palace
Manchester United legend Steve Bruce has hailed United trio Anthony Martial, Harry Maguire, and Sofyan Amrabrat for their brilliant performances in our EFL Cup win over Crystal Palace.
The former United skipper has lauded the three players for their displays against the Eagles.
Harry Maguire was handed a start, and speaking about his performance, Bruce told Sky Sports: “He’s very, very decent. He made a really good interception in the first five minutes, which was Palace’s only real effort in the first half.
“He did what Harry does. I’ve seen Harry play so many times likes this where he has done enough, he’s played well.
“You can see from the reaction of the supporters when he makes tackles. He is the one again. Fair play to him.”
Bruce also lauded Martial and added: “[His goal was] a quality finish, with his wrong foot.
“He’s had his critics over the years but he is a talented footballer. To take that on your wrong side and stick it into the top corner is a great finish.”
Quizzed about United midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, who was handed his full debut and was deployed as a left-back, Bruce said: “He looks a real player.
“He questioned him at left-back and if he would fit in there comfortably. I think he played everywhere but left-back! You can see he’s got a physical presence about him. That’s going to be big for Manchester United by the look of it.”
