Man United legend Rio Ferdinand names his sporting GOAT athletes. No Ronaldo or Messi
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand named his sporting GOAT athletes, but didn’t name any football player, including former United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Rio Ferdinand was asked to pick his four sporting GOAT stars of all time.
The former Red Devils defender opted not to name a footballer, selecting two boxers, a basketball legend and a tennis icon.
He said: “Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Michael Jordan, Roger Federer.”
Ferdinand played alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and also faced Lionel Messi – two greatest footballers of this generation.
Both superstars have won 12 Ballon d’Or awards between them as well as nine Champions League titles.
