Jonny Evans has backed Erik ten Hag to deal with the pressures that come with being manager of Manchester United.

The Dutch tactician has been involved in setting standards at the club by dealing with disciplinary issues in the United dressing room.

The Northern Irishman believes the Red Devils boss has the mentality to deal with the issues at the club after getting to know the Dutchman.

The centre-back said: “It’s going to be very up and down. You get that if you want to be at the top.”

“You’ve got to be able to deal with setbacks and this club is a fantastic club, always want to be challenging at the top, so it’s all part and parcel of it. The manager has got a good thing going here.”
