Mason Mount gives honest assessment of Manchester United’s disappointing 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace

Manchester United Mason Mount has described Manchester United’s 1-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday as “disappointing”.

The defeat to Roy Hodgson’s side is our fourth in the opening seven matches of the new season.

Mount admitted that the team needs to win games and also called for improvement.

Post-match, he reflected on the team’s performance while speaking to MUTV: “Disappointing. We know we need to win these games and it’s been a difficult start.

“We need to look at the areas we need to improve on and we need to improve because we want to win games. There are areas that we need to look at. It’s a frustrating one to take.

“We want to perform for them [the fans], we want to win games for them. We’ll improve, we need to go away and look at some areas that just weren’t there today.”

Regarding the hamstring injury he has just recovered from, the England star added: “A tough start with the injury, a frustrating one but I used that time to look at areas I can improve on and coming back into the team last game it felt good. And then today, keep pushing and felt good as well but you don’t want to lose games.”

Next up for United is a Champions League group-stage clash against Galatasaray as we are seek a first win in the competition.
