Will Manchester United sign star players Serge Gnabry and Federico Chiesa? – Football Journalist gives latest update
According to Dean Jones, speaking on GiveMeSport, Manchester United will not be signing mooted transfer targets Serge Gnabry and Federico Chiesa during the January transfer window.
Both players were shortlisted as potential replacements for the exiled Jadon Sancho whose future at the club seems untenable.
The English winger remains banned from all first team facilities and activities as he is still refusing to apologise to Erik ten Hag for calling him a liar on social media.
Jones told GiveMeSport that neither Gnabry nor Chiesa will be available for transfer in the winter market.
“I think it’s unreasonable to expect that Chiesa or Gnabry are genuinely likely signings for United right now,” Jones said.
“Obviously there is a good chance in January that United will recruit an attacker because of the disciplinary situations that have cut Ten Hag’s options but these two are pretty much out of their reach at the moment.”
This means the club will have to explore the market over other available players in order to fill the right-wing position.
