Liverpool legend backs Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney for success
Former Birmingham city striker and Liverpool legend Emile Heskey has backed Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney to succeed as head coach of the Championship club.
The Blues dismissed John Eustace on Monday with former striker Rooney expected to take over after he left Major League Soccer side DC United.
The former Red Devils striker who had a spell in charge of Derby County is expected to secure Premier League promotion for the Blues. Heskey believes he can be a success at St. Andrews.
“I think Wayne Rooney has done really well in management,” Heskey told BoyleSports who offer the latest Premier League betting & odds.
“I’d support him being the manager of Birmingham due to his profile and status in the game.
“He’ll, of course, need to deliver results, but having a figure like him at the club would bring a lot of attention.
“I think Wayne has done great and he’s always done well with the resources he’s been given. He went through a lot at Derby, but I think he did well and he dealt the pressure well.”
