‘Not a top level player’: Majority of Manchester United fans unconvinced about this £60m Man United signing
Some Manchester United fans have expressed doubts over United midfielder Mason Mount’s ability to be a top-level player.
The 24-year-old moved to Old Trafford in a £60 million move from Chelsea this summer, but so far, he has failed to live up to expectations.
However, some Red Devils supporters now feel the Englishman is just an average player.
Here are some reactions:
City-puma (all reactions via RedCafe): “Mount seems more and more like ‘Lingard Mark II’.”
Pocco: “I don’t think Mount is a top level player or technician on the pitch. I don’t think he’s particularly good at carrying the ball, his passing is basic. The main thing is that he doesn’t seem to have that inner desire to influence games.”
sammyholI: “I can’t think of any games that I have seen him play for Chelsea, England, or Man United that made me think ‘Wow, what a player’, or that he was the type of player we should have prioritised this summer.”
Pronewbie: “Mount doesn’t work with Bruno, neither does he out-perform him as an 8 or 10. I cannot understand why we prioritised him and paid that silly transfer fee. The players are probably flabbergasted too.”
Devil81: “Never understood the signing in the first place, we have Bruno and Eriksen to fill the role of the playmaker. We needed a commanding midfielder who could dominate a midfield. It’s almost like Chelsea offered him to us and we just snatched their hands off without thinking it through.”
Glazed: “I thought he was meh for Chelsea and for England so it’s no shock that he’s meh for us. No clue why we bought him other than spreadsheet accountancy culture.”
