Manchester United receive massive fitness boost ahead of this weekend’s clash against Sheffield United
Manchester United have received a massive fitness boost ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash against Sheffield United as veteran midfielder Casemiro started in Brazil’s 2-0 World Cup qualifying defeat to Uruguay on Wednesday.
The Brazilian was a serious doubt for the game after being forced off in last week’s 1-1 draw with Venezuela. He asked to be substituted in the latter stages of the contest, Brazil boss Fernando Diniz confirmed, and he missed training on Saturday.
However, he recovered in time to start against Marcelo Bielsa’s side, and was involved for the full 90 minutes. It means he is likely to be considered for selection for the Reds against Sheffield United this weekend.
Casemiro fitness boost will come as a huge relief for Red devils boss Erik ten Hag who has had to battle with a long injury list this season.
