Revealed: Sir Jim Ratcliffe preferred candidate to replace Murtough as Manchester United Sporting director
According to the i, former Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell is the preferred candidate to become Manchester United’s sporting director role if Sir Jim Ratcliffe oversees sporting decisions at the club.
This means current sporting director John Murtough could be in for an early departure from the club after taking over from Ed Woodward last year.
Further details of the report claim Ratcliffe has been less than impressed with the club’s state and might be intent on a little shakeup.
Mitchell just recently left his role at Ligue 1 side Monaco. While at the French club, he lived close to Ratcliffe who also owns French side Nice.
Before Monaco, he worked at Southampton, Tottenham and RB Leipzig, and was impressive with his works at the three clubs.
