Sir Jim Ratcliffe singled out signing of £60m Manchester United star as a mistake during Manchester United talks
According to reports, prospective new minority owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe labelled the £60m signing of Casemiro as a mistake during talks with the United hierarchy earlier this year.
The British billionaire questioned a recruitment strategy that he believes has undermined the club’s chances of achieving success in recent seasons.
The Ineos’ owner’s offer to purchase 25% of the club is expected to be voted on during a board meeting on Thursday following the collapse of Sheikh Jassim’s efforts to buy the Premier League giants outright from the Glazer family.
Once confirmed, Ratcliffe will takeover the club’s sporting matters and is expected to overhaul the recruitment team in an effort to fully support manager Erik ten Hag with a squad capable of challenging for major honours.
Report from the Guardian claims that Ratcliffe is keen to get the club back on track in transfer strategy after falling behind our major rivals in recent years.
