‘It’s frustrating’ – Sheffield United manager reveals what angered him most in defeat to Manchester United

Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom admits he is unhappy with his side’s defeat to Manchester United as Dalot’s second half strike secured all three points at Bramall Lane on Saturday night.
United secured a second consecutive Premier League win for the first time this season, thanks to Diogo Dalot’s second-half effort which made it 2-1 and thus sealed the victory over the Blades.
The Portuguese, Dalot, struck a sweet curling shot past Blades goalie Wes Foderingham which frustrated Heckington.
“It is [disappointing] but I’ve said to the players, we have to build on that performance,” Heckingbottom told Sky Sports.
“Today we had to change shape with injuries we suffered, things like losing your captain, vice-captain and another two players is not ideal for us but it’s an opportunity for other players.
“We adapted really well and allowed us to focus attention on this new formation. We’ve played it before but obviously against top-class players we need a lot more work on it. Lots of pleasing things, defended very well.
“I know United had a lot of ball but in terms of attempts, it was all from outside the box, they hit the bar and then the winner hit the top corner from 25 yards. That part is frustrating but it’s a tough league, we have to enjoy the challenge and be better next week.”
Replays of the winning goal showed that Foderingham got a hand on Dalot’s effort, and should have saved it.
“I’ve not seen any of the incidents back,” Heckingbottom said of the goal. “We’ll always look, whether it’s a goal or an attempt on our goal. We always look back and see where we can do better, whether it’s a mistake or a poor decision.”
