Revealed: What Sheikh Jassim plans to do after failed Manchester United takeover bid
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Qatari businessman mogul Sheikh Jassim has no intention of buying Liverpool or any other club after his failed bid for Manchester United.
Speaking to FIVE, David Ornstein of The Athletic said: “People say Sheikh Jassim should pivot to Liverpool to rub salt in the wounds of Manchester United fans.
“But I have no knowledge of them going anywhere else and there are reports from credible journalists — and these will be briefings from Sheikh Jassim’s camp.
“They all say the same thing: that Sheikh Jassim and his people, they’re not focusing on another club at this point in time, of course that can change in the future.”
Sheikh Jassim has officially lost the Manchester United bidding war with the club board set to vote on Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25 per cent stake purchase soon.
The Qatari billionaire was only interested in getting full control, but his offer of £6 billion fell short of the Glazer’s valuation of the club.
