Copenhagen boss sends warning shot to Manchester United after losing at Old Trafford
FC Copenhagen manager Jacob Neestrup has warned Manchester United to expect a tough game ahead of the reverse fixture after his side’s defeat at Old Trafford.
United secured all three points in a tight and tense contest that ended in a 1-0 win in for Man United.
The Danish side were impressive throughout the game, and will probably feel hard done that they didn’t rescue a point in the end.
Speaking after the game in his post-match press conference, Neestrup was positive despite his side’s painful defeat.
“We have to look at the positives right now,” he said.
“We nearly took points at Old Trafford but in a couple of hours when I look at it I will probably feel: ‘Ah, we were so close to getting a great point,’ but that is what happens at this level.
“In a couple of weeks, I have a big belief that we can make it very difficult for Manchester United in Copenhagen.
“Over 95 minutes we were totally in the game. I think we had the better of the first half and they started the second half better but the last 15 minutes were equal again. I think we do everything we can today to create that game picture that we want, with and without the ball.”
