The Glazers keen on avoiding £100m payment
According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United owners, the Glazer family are keen on avoiding a £100 million tax bill from the sale of 25 per cent stake the club to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
The deal, which is expected to fetch the Americans a profit of £510 million, will be excluded from the capital gains tax since the club is listed in the Cayman Islands.
It remains to be seen if the British billionaire will have his offer accepted for the club’s part takeover process to be finalised.
Meanwhile, the Glazers have decided against totally selling the club – a move which has infuriated Manchester United fans.
