Manchester United goalkeeper and Turkey international Altay Bayindir has revealed Manchester United are by far the best supported English team in Turkey and that no one else comes second.

Bayindir, who has helped his country qualify for Euro 2024, is yet to make his United debut after signing from Fenerbahce this summer.

Asked whether United was the best supported English team in Turkey, as opposed to Liverpool and Manchester City, he told MUTV: “Yeah of course. Manchester United are number one, and second one… we don’t have a second one I think, just Manchester United.”

He added: “My favourite goalkeeper is Edwin van der Sar, he is a legend. I watched a lot of Manchester United games.”
