Patrice Evra has told Cole Palmer he’s not a real Manchester United fan because he chose to go to Manchester City and Chelsea over the Red Devils.
Palmer joined Chelsea from the Etihad Stadium last summer after impressing in the few first-team appearances he made for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 20-year-old recently revealed that he grew up a Man United fan, despite his affiliations with neighbours, City.
Palmer was one of the stars of Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to United on Wednesday night, after finding Onana’s post with a sublime effort at the stroke of halftime. And while speaking after the game at Old Trafford, Evra jokingly expressed disappointment that the attacker isn’t playing for United, and said he would have to speak with his parents.
“I think it’s not a great moment,” said Evra.
“I think he let us down! I need to talk to his parents!
“He grew up a United fan, you end up playing for City and you score a goal against United? He must not be a real fan.”
