Ryan Giggs claims this young Manchester United winger is 10 times better than Antony

Ryan Giggs has hailed young Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.

According to Giggs, Garnacho gives Man United “10 times more” than Antony.

Giggs has not been impressed with the club’s recent recruitments, and says Manchester United should only go for players who will give their all for the club.

Giggs said: “Like everyone else, it’s frustrating and has been for the last six or seven years. Nobody knows the answer and you have to start again. It starts from the top.

“We’re just so inconsistent and you just never know what you get. That is the number one thing we have to change. The culture of the club. To get players in who want to play for United and will do anything to win a game for United.

“That is something in the medium-term, we have to get those players in.”

Speaking on Garnacho, he added: “He gets you off your seat. He’s giving you 10 times more than the other guy (Antony) that cost so much more money. We’ve just recruited terribly for years and years.”

Manchester United signed Spaniard Garnacho from Atletico Madrid’s youth academy back in 2020 for a meagre fee of £420,000, whereas Antony was an £86m signing. So far, Garnacho has fared better than Antony.
