Confirmed: Manchester United to appoint key figure from city rivals Manchester City
Manchester United are set to appoint departed Manchester City’s Chief Football Operations Officer Omar Berrada as the club’s new chief executive.
Berrada is considered one of City’s key figures behind the club’s recent successes.
The Athletic claim new Manchester United minority stakeholders, Jim Ratcliffe has chosen Berrada to succeed Richard Arnold.
Berrada, was previously at Barcelona before moving to Manchester City. He will oversee both the football and business side of the club and sit on the club’s board of directors.
A City statement read: “Manchester City Football Club can confirm that Omar Berrada has resigned from his role as chief football operations officer at City Football Group.
“The club understands his decision to look for a new challenge and he leaves with our thanks and best wishes.”
