Manchester United overcome Newport scare to reach FA Cup fifth round
Manchester United secured a 4-2 victory over Newport County in the FA Cup fourth round.
United started strong with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo in the first-half, but Newport responded with goals from Bryn Morris and Will Evans, leveling the score.
United eventually regained the lead with Antony scoring his first goal of the season after a shot from Luke Shaw hit the post.
Rasmus Hojlund then sealed the win with a late goal. Despite some defensive slipups, United’s possession and offensive play were key to their win, with notable performances from Luke Shaw and Antony.
Shaw, returning from injury, was particularly influential, contributing significantly to Antony’s goal.
United will now face either Bristol City or Nottingham Forest in the fifth round.
