Garnacho snubs Di Maria and Co as he celebrates like Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is a huge fan of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Garnacho has often celebrated like his idol when he scores for Manchester United.
Earlier this week, former United winger Di Maria, who flopped at Old Trafford, said in an interview with TyC Sports that Garnacho should stop copying Cristiano Ronaldo’s celebrations after scoring, but should rather celebrate like Lionel Messi.
“The only thing I wouldn’t do is celebrate like Cristiano,” Di Maria said.
“I would score the goal and I would do like Messi does. I’ll stick with that.”
After scoring the first of his brace against West Ham on Sunday, Garnacho did the opposite of what Di Maria said, as he sat on the advertising board with his back to the crowd – copying another iconic celebration from Ronaldo.
Chilean legend Arturo Vidal also took aim at the Garnacho after his brilliant overhead kick against Everton at Goodison Park.
“The only bad thing or what I didn’t understand is why he celebrates like Cristiano?” said Vidal.
“He has to make his own name. He is an already great player.
“It’s good that he is his idol, respect for that, but then he has to make his name. How are you going to celebrate a goal and remember it? I don’t know, celebrate it another way. But it was a great goal, it was a great goal.”
