Former Chelsea boss in talks to become Manchester United boss

Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter could replace Erik ten Hag as Manchester United manager at the end of the season.

Potter has held talks with incoming Manchester United sporting director Dan Ashworth over becoming new Manchester United manager, according to The Sun.

Potter is the favourite of Sir Jim Ratcliffe should the new Manchester United owner fire Ten Hag at the end of the season.

Ashworth and Potter worked closely at Brighton and it is understood the pair got together last weekend.

Potter has not managed a club since being sacked by Chelsea in April after just six months in charge at Stamford Bridge. He has turned down a number of offers ashe waits for the right job to get back into management.

Ratcliffe, who also owns Nice, had previously tried to hire Potter as manager of the French club.

It is thought that Potter would be interested in replacing Ten Hag should the opportunity become available.

Zinedine Zidane is also admired by Ratcliffe but it is thought that the Frenchman would snub the job at Old Trafford.
