Mount, who joined United from Chelsea last summer for an initial fee of £55 million amidst interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, was immediately given the iconic number 7 shirt as a sign of the club’s confidence in him.
However, the 25-year-old’s debut season with Manchester has been marred by injuries, limiting his impact. After starting the first two matches, he was sidelined with an injury and made his return in late September.

Following his return, Mount managed to start in only five additional matches before being sidelined once more by injury, with his last appearance coming in the 1-0 victory against Luton in November.
The midfielder is yet to find the back of the net for his new club, contributing just a single assist so far.
Mount is poised for his eagerly anticipated comeback on Sunday, expected to be part of the squad as United faces Liverpool in their FA Cup quarter-final match at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag is enthusiastic about Mount’s return, believing he will play a crucial role in the team’s endeavors as the season progresses.
“I’m convinced he’ll be a key player. He didn’t have the chance to prove this point. But he will be a very good player for United,” Erik ten Hag said.
“It’s been really unfortunate and disappointing for him but also for us when you have such a class player in the middle and you can’t play him.
“I am sure that when he is fit and playing he will get into that rhythm, he will contribute to a successful Manchester United I’m sure.”
United are also optimistic about having Rasmus Hojlund, Harry Maguire, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka ready for the game against Jurgen Klopp’s team.
While Lisandro Martinez will not be available for this match, there’s hope he could return after the international break. Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia continue to be absent from the lineup, with Malacia yet to make an appearance this season.
