Paul Scholes slams rising Manchester United youngsters Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho for doing this in training

Paul Scholes has slammed Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho for exhibiting poor standards during a Manchester United training session.

Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho have been superb for Manchester United this season, and are both contenders for Manchester United Player of the Season.

However, Paul Scholes was unhappy with the young duo after the pair were pictured with their jacket hoods up during a training session with United on Wednesday.

The former United midfielder shared the picture on Instagram and wrote: “Don’t mind hats and gloves but no way can you train proper with your hood up.

“Standards begin on the training pitch.”

Meanwhile, the usually critical Roy Keane has lavished massive praise on Kobbie Mainoo this season.

“He’s a smart, intelligent footballer and he can go right to the very top,” Keane told Sky Sports.

“The senior players will need to keep him grounded, make sure he learns, but he’s got the composure and we’ve seen that already.

“Defensively, he can get around the pitch but the kid has a chance, obviously.”
