Manchester United decide what to do to Ten Hag after FA Cup final

Manchester United have decided to sack manager Erik ten Hag after the FA Cup final, regardless of the result against Manchester City.
This decision comes after a disappointing season where United finished eighth in the Premier League, their lowest position since the league’s inception, and suffered 19 defeats across all competitions, leading to their exclusion from European football for the first time since 2015.
The FA Cup final was thought to represent not only United’s last chance for silverware this season but also Ten Hag’s final opportunity to win over the Manchester United board.
However, the decision has already been made to axe Ten Hag at the end of the campaign.
According to The Guardian, Ten Hag will be sacked even if Manchester United produce an upset and win the FA Cup.
This now means that the new leadership under Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be appointing a new manager this summer.
Manchester United have identified the likes of ex-Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna, Brentford’s Thomas Frank and former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino as possible replacements.
Erik ten Hag did well in his first season in charge of Manchester United, as United came third in the league and also won the Carabao Cup. However, this season has been far from impressive, which has led to the decision to sack Ten Hag.
