Pep Guardiola gives excuse after losing to Manchester United in FA Cup final

Manchester City lost the FA Cup final to Manchester United, after a 2-1 defeat to United at Wembley.
Goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo gave United a 2-0 half-time lead, as City looked lethargic.
Jeremy Doku scored a late second-half goal, but it wasn’t to be for City, as Manchester United romped to a well-deserved victory.
Pep Guardiola has however blamed himself for the defeat, as he insists his poor gameplan was to blame for Manchester City’s FA Cup final defeat to Manchester United.
“Congratulations to Man United,” Guardiola said after their FA Cup final defeat to Manchester United.
“I think my gameplan in the first-half was not good. The second-half was much, much better, we were more intense, partly because we were 2-0 down and we didn’t have anything to lose.”
Guardiola also insisted the celebration of their Premier League success was not to blame for his team’s sluggish start at Wembley.
“No, completely the opposite, they were focused,” he said. “How we reacted in the second-half was very good.”
