Jim Ratcliffe finally explains why Ten Hag wasn’t sacked

It was expected that Manchester United would sack Erik ten Hag at the end of the campaign, with the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
However, the new minority shareholder at Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, opted to keep Ten Hag as manager.
Jim Ratcliffe has claimed that Manchester United need to be ‘supportive’ in order to help younger players develop.
Ratcliffe doesn’t believe the coaching aspect is the main problem at Manchester United.
“The coach isn’t the central issue at Manchester United,” Ratcliffe said in an interview with Bloomberg.
“It’s a sports club. It needs to be competitive, it needs a degree of intensity, but with a supportive side to it because you are dealing with players who are relatively young. It hasn’t had that type of environment historically.”
Ratcliffe also doesn’t believe that United’s squad issues will be addressed in this summer transfer window, as he thinks it could take a longer period.
“It will take two or three summer windows to get to a better place,” Ratcliffe said.
“I’m not confident that we’ll solve all the problems in the first transfer window.
“Manchester United doesn’t have any players that are valued at €100 million or more.”
Ratcliffe also added that buying one high-value player, ‘isn’t going to solve the problem at Manchester United’.
