‘We’d love to open the new stadium with Ruben as head coach’ – Man United CEO says

Manchester United CEO Omar Berrada has expressed his desire to see newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim lead the team into a new era at Old Trafford, including the grand opening of the club’s highly anticipated stadium redevelopment.
“We’d love to open the new stadium with Ruben as head coach,” Berrada stated, underlining the club’s long-term vision with Amorim at the helm.
Berrada, who played a key role in securing Amorim’s appointment, also addressed the club’s ticket pricing strategy in light of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s confirmation that prices will rise. However, he reassured fans that the expansion of Old Trafford’s capacity will create more opportunities for supporters across different price ranges.
“For the current stadium, we are still working through what we are going to do for next season (pre-season tickets). Jim gave you an idea of the direction of travel, but we are not ready to announce it yet.”
With plans in place to increase the stadium’s capacity to 100,000, Berrada emphasised that this move will provide greater accessibility for both dedicated and occasional fans.
“The big advantage of increasing the capacity to 100,000—and as you heard, the demand is quite high—is that we’ll be able to have more flexibility to accommodate our core fans as well as fans who can maybe only come twice a season. And we’ll be able to offer a range of products,” he explained.
As United look to a future with Amorim in charge, the club’s ambitious stadium expansion and evolving ticketing strategy signal a new chapter for the Red Devils and their global fanbase.
