Bruno Fernandes sets two massive records as Manchester United beat Real Sociedad

Manchester United delivered a sensational comeback performance to thrash Real Sociedad 4-1 and book their place in the next round of the Europa League.
For Bruno Fernandes, he put in a captain’s performance and was excellent on the night.
The night started on a shaky note for Ruben Amorim’s side as Mikel Oyarzabal put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot in the last-16 second-leg clash.
However, United responded swiftly when Rasmus Hojlund was brought down in the box, allowing Bruno Fernandes to step up and dispatch a confident penalty to restore parity.
Bruno Fernandes set a record in the process as he scored his ninth ever penalty in Europe’s second-tier competition, the most in its history.
He extended his record spot-kick tally to ten in the opening moments of the second half after a long VAR check for a foul on Patrick Dorgu.
Fernandes, leading by example, completed his hat-trick in the final ten minutes—his second goal coming from another spot-kick, while his third was a clinical low finish into the bottom corner.
Bruno Fernandes’ tally of 24 goals and 17 assists in the Europa League is the highest combined tally in the competition’s history.
